Maa Tujhe Salaam

Album: Vande Mataram

Original Singer/s: A R Rahman

Theme: Independence Day Special!

I cannot believe the 'hungama' (madness) that was caused on this episode because Religion was brought into the equation.  I thought it was despicable that any reference was even made to any kind of religious divide, between Pakistani and Indian contestants.  It was meant to be an episode about unity, but, instead it was manipulated to garner television ratings, the TV network didn't have to mention anything about Religion, they could have just allowed the Muslim contestants to sing their Independence day song/s and the Indian ones to sing theirs, but, instead they had to showcase this whole situation just to get a reaction.  What a farce!

I have to mention that I personally love all Cultures and Religions, I would never discriminate against anyone based on their gender, Colour, Caste, Race, Religion, social standing etc.  Division is caused by nothing but, pure ignorance and I am proud to say that I am not that way inclined, I have always been open minded to all types of people, because I believe that it broadens our understanding in life and simply because, I think that when we try to divide mankind, we are essentially trying to 'play God' which I think is totally wrong.  I like to judge a person by their character and talent only - Nothing else plays a fact in my daily life.

Anyway, with all of that said and done, let's get down to business - Raja is so adorable when he begins this song with a few words of wisdom dedicated to all of the mothers in the world, I think that this video clip, is soooo heart-warming...

This song (another Rahman classic) is very hard to fulfil, but, Raja nailed it on the head with perfection and the judges were full of nothing but, praise for him.  In fact, Ismail was so touched by Raja's performance, that he felt the need to come onstage to give Raja a BIG hug!  The audience (mainly full of sweet, little kids,) begged all of the judges to give Raja 10 points, to which they all obliged because Raja had once again ROCKED THE SHOW!!!

Well done Raja!
