RAJA VS ABHIJEET!!!
THE GLOVES ARE OFF!!!
Raja was furious today, he was like a canister...ready to explode. I think that Raja must have had a few weeks of pent up anger, which culminated in a massive argument between him and Abhijeet. I was a fan of Abhijeet's before he pointed out his feelings towards Mussarat's Origin, and then I just lost all respect for him. Anyway, in this clip, Raja had made a valid point stating that he felt like he was being misjudged when it came to receiving fair due, for his performances. I must admit, that over the last few weeks I have also felt the same, especially for his 'Lagan Lagi' and 'Khwaja Mere Khwaja' performances, which I think were flawless. In fact, I think that he deserved a perfect 10 for quite a few of his performances. It was wrong for Abhijeet to dish out 10 points so generously to performances which, by all accounts were less than mediocre, so, in that respect, I am glad that Raja took a stand for what he believed in. I hope that this doesn't affect the public voting, but, to be honest, I totally support Raja, because it is better to be true to yourself and stand up for what you believe in, than to sit quiet and accept things which are wrong.
Here is a general summary of the conversation which took place for those of you who don't understand Hindi.
Just so that you are all aware...When I have made references to certain people, they are as follows:
Mandira is the female host of the show.
Abhijeet and Ahmed are the Judges of the contest.
Aneek, Sanchita, Abhishek, Kushal are contestants on this show.
Jassi is Raja's partner in this song contest.
All of the blue writing is my reaction to what was said.
Mandira: A lot of people believe that you favour Sanchita more and give her good marks...
Abhijeet: Never!
Abhijeet: The ones who think this way, are limited in their way of thinking, our job is to think, our job is to give marks, if you truthfully ask me from the heart, then even up until this point, I have not seen my favourite singer on this show. People used to state that I favoured Aneek. Me and Ahmed had more fun and games with him, that we favour him more, but, WE were the ones who eliminated him. We don't favour anyone, favouring anyone is not our job. Our job is to judge on the spot, their performances and this nonsense you are speaking, doesn't hold any relevance to me, whoever has anything to say, show it to me, if I want to favour anyone, THEN I WILL, performance wise, that is my job!
Mandira: Raja, do you believe that certain contestants receive more marks and are more favoured than others?
Raja: Well, I have been told many times, that "Raja, you have a Godly divine voice, and all kinds of high and mighty praise, and then to be told; '6' marks, that really hurt me, I cannot believe that even with my utmost best effort that I am receiving 6 marks, (Raja then imitates the judges by saying...) "Raja you performed really well, we really enjoyed it, BUT, it wasn't worthy of great marks," then what happens is that I end up receiving phone calls regularly from my fans who say; "Raja, you haven't ever achieved 10 marks on 'Ek Se Badhkar Ek' once, does Abhijeet not want to give you 10 marks?" I am not saying that I should be given 10 marks, even if you were to give me 1 mark, my fans are always here for me, the whole of India is standing up and supporting me! - I do believe that Raja has deserved 10 marks for many performances and had not been given his fair due and also the part about his fans, yes Raja, WE ARE ALL HERRRRRREEEEEEEE FOR YOU!!! :0)
Abhijeet: I HAVE HEARD ENOUGH!!! When you receive certain marks, then you should understand the reasoning behind WHY you have received these marks, if you deserve 10, you will get 10, if you don't deserve it, I will not give them. You should not be asking judges for marks to better your standing on this show, you should be doing the work, you should do the job, that is what I have done. I used to always tell Abhishek, "Abhishek you are about to go, you are my favourite and Kushal was standing right there." Kushal said to me "if Abhishek was your favourite, then you should have advised me to leave the show, I would have just left..." This is how each contestant becomes my favourite, my favourite contestant is seasonal, I don't favour anyone, each episode I favour someone different...
Raja: Was I ever your favourite? - The answer to this question is actually 'YES,' there was one episode I recall when Abhijeet said that Raja and Jassi were his favourites.
Abhijeet: Sanchita wasn't my favourite today.
Raja repeats: Was I ever your favourite?
Abhijeet: Nobody is my favourite.
Raja: NEVER, I never was!!
Abhijeet: Nobody, no one is my favourite!!!
Raja: I just want to say one thing, when I sang the song 'Lagan Lagi' everyone stood up in solidarity to show praise, one of the judges (Ahmed) also got up and gave me a standing ovation and didn't hesitate to give me 10 marks for my performance, but even at that point, you were trying to find a fault in my performance, to lessen my marks. I am just asking for the same amount of love and respect that the other contestants are receiving. - That performance was HOT and SEXY, Raja definitely deserved a PERFECT ten from both judges for this one!!! I want to know why he didn't get a 10 from Abhijeet!
Abhijeet: I ONLY GIVE LOVE AND RESPECT TO THOSE WHO NEED IT!!! I won't love anyone, I have not come here to love anyone, I am not going to judge based on love, I just love their singing and performance and that's it! Raja, whenever I have given you marks, I will give you the honest truth from my heart, I always gave you an extra point, more than what you deserved!!! The fact that you keep stating that I have favoured other performers, is not factual as I have always favoured you also. - I thought that it was UNBELIEVABLE that Abhijeet would say something so cruel to Raja.
Jassi: So based on that principle, and what you have just said, last week, you had stated that out of all of the remaining contestants that you wanted us to be the first couple to get eliminated on this show, your vindictive tone showcased in last week's video made it apparent to us that, me and Raja would have been the first to be eliminated..
Abhijeet: And so what? I was asked that out of the remaining contestants who would I feel would get eliminated and therefore conveyed my opinion. All of you - are participating in this show to get eliminated because there can only be ONE remaining victorious pair.
Jassi: Yes, but, surely this should be evaluated AFTER the performances we have done and not BEFORE (the presenter also nodded her head in agreement.)
Abhijeet by this time is getting hot under the collar: I was told to judge based on the performances thus far, that is the basis I used to formulate my opinion, how am I to know what the future holds for both of you? I cannot foresee the future, I am just stating my opinions based on what I see now...
Raja: So based on that judgement then, we are not well educated enough to even achieve fame, fortune and success then? Let's just stop this conversation right now, if that is how you feel!
Abhijeet: THIS IS THE LAST TIME I AM ASKING YOU TO SPEAK RAJA, SO DON'T SAY NOTHING!!! YOU ARE CHALLENGING OUR PROFESSION, MY PROFESSION AS A SINGER!!!...
Raja: Sir, this biasness is hurting me, that is why I am expressing my feelings, I have no problems with any of my fellow contestants AT ALL, my problem is with those people who are asking me continually "Does that judge hate you or what?," Ahmed gives me ten marks, but not you!
Abhijeet: WHO ARE YOU THAT I HAVE TO ANSWER TO YOU?! WHAT ARE YOU?!, WHAT ARE YOU?! I WON'T GIVE THEM TO YOU!!! - I almost fell of my chair in shock when I heard Abhijeet say this, I could not believe that he could stoop sooooooooo low!!! How dare he say such a horrible thing?!
Raja was enraged by now, he basically goes on to say: Sanchita will get rated for her performance and be given an '8' and if I do a performance on the same level, I will receive a pitiful '6.'
Abhijeet: Well, whatever mood I am in, that is what marks I will give...
Raja cuts him off and says 'thank you sir, thank you sir' in his oh... so sweet and sarcastic tone haha! - (Nice one Raja!) :0)
Abhijeet: This is the first time that a contestant is daring to ask me for marks, is that you what you are trying to do? When you keep referring to 'YOUR FANS, YOUR FANS,' YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT FANS ARE!!! - Oh, surely he DID NOT go there?!!! Raja has a multitude of international fans who love and respect his talent and his sweetness and humility and we are always here for him xxx Raja, please don't take bad comments/bad people to heart, you will get your due one day. Upparwalah aapke saath hai dost xxx
Mandira: Ahmed I have a question for you, do you think that there is a major public divide between the public and the judges opinions? - I think that this is a great question to ask. I personally think that there is a massive divide. Raja is the 'People's Champion' and humare 'Dilo Ka Raja' and a phenomenal singer/artist, and the continual love he receives from his fans is evident of that. Not to mention his glittering introduction into the Bollywood industry. I think that with or without this win, he will continue to shine regardless. He is an incredibly God gifted talent and will move onto bigger and better things in his life...
Ahmed: The audience are the audience and if they like them, they like them, and if they don't, the contestants don't stand a chance!
Abhijeet: Ahmed, tell me one thing...I can't speak for you, but, after seeing the marks I have given to you Raja, you will BOW YOUR HEAD DOWN IN SHAME, YOU WILL BE THE MOST REGRETFUL PERSON ON THIS EARTH, AND DON'T DARE COME AND APOLOGISE AFTER YOU HAVE SEEN THEM!!! - Again, disgusting behaviour from someone who is meant to be a very senior member on a panel of judges.
Raja: I am just speaking out against what I thought was wrong. I am not saying that we are sworn enemies, you are not giving me fair marks etc. - We love you for speaking your mind Raja!!! Whatever happens this week, we all love you anyway xxx
Abhijeet: YOU ARE NO ONE TO EXPRESS, WHAT YOU THINK IS WRONG!!! - Again, cannot believe the rude behaviour!!!
Raja: No, I am not the only one who is expressing this opinion, everyone thinks it is unfair and expresses the same opinion, that doesn't mean that the love and respect I have for you has lessened in any way.
Abhijeet: I love and respect you very much, and you will see how much when you see how many marks you receive today.
Ahmed finally comes in after what seems an eternity and says that Raja and Jassi should respect the judge as he is a senior member, however, even Ahmed goes on to say that he agrees that Abhijeet has a favourable tendency to give Sanchita high marks etc, adding that it is because she is super talented...and continues emphasising that judges hold a more mighty position than a Guru and should be respected at which point, the madness died down...eventually....
(I have been told that this argument was actually approx 1 hour long, but, we only got to see the edited 15 minute television version!!!)

You know what I was thinking? It would have been GREAT if Raja had reacted this way to Himesh on SRGMP 2007!!!

I think that Raja is a sweet and gentle soul, but, I think that sometimes when you are too nice, people take advantage of your kindness and, it is good to know that when you are pushed to your limits, that you can put someone in their place and I am soooooo happy that Raja has shown that he has a fire breathing dragon within him :)) It is just a nice pre-warning, so that people know not to mess with him, in the future...x
Well Done Raja - It is good to be true to yourself, follow your heart and you can't go wrong.
