This image that you see above is of one of the designs that I had created to promote Raja in the UK.  It is actually a 2010 Calendar magnet.  I love it!!!

WEDNESDAY 31ST MARCH 2010

Music Review:

Sadiyaan

It's almost ages when viewers have seen everlasting beauties like Rekha, Hema Malini and Shabana Azmi coming together for a worthy entertainer. Raj Kanwar's directed SADIYAAN makes this dream happen and that too in a flick that happens to be launching vehicle of a star kid Luv Sinha (son of Shatrughan Sinha). Low on profile but high on aspirations, this one happens to be conventional Bollywood conflicting love drama. This brings on 'fat-to-fit' Adnan Sami on centre-stage with his expertise as composer to deliver out the demanding naive romantic appeal. Barring the exception of LUCKY-NO TIME FOR LOVE (2005)), Sami hasn't zeal his way out as composer and his presence has been restricted to be seasoned campaigner as vocalist. Does Adnan Sami have the versatile genius of meeting the desired expectations? Can SADIYAAN be the one to stand out the heat of today's bestsellers on stands? Let's check this out...

Shaan's vibrant voice in modulating pitches makes consolidated start to the album and makes mood effervescent and eclectic in the opening soundtrack 'Jadu Nasha, Ehsas Kya'. Adnan Sami's music sounds pleasing in his peculiar set of arrangements and revisits the feel of his popular soundtracks like 'Tera Chehra (album -'Tera Chera'), 'Chori Chori' and 'Sun Zara' (LUCKY - NO TIME FOR LOVE (2005)). Shreya Ghoshal's sublime voice in tandem sounds routine and so do Sameer's predictable lyrics. It has optimum melodic quotient but lacks novelty and deftness in delivering out soul-enchanting poise for romantic moments. Shaan's remarkable rendition is the brightest spark that carries the mushy feel. If you have been ardent listeners to Sami's hit tracks then 'Jadu Nasha, Ehsas Kya' will surely be amusing piece of work.

Adnan Sami's deep-throated gravelly voice in sluggish tonality of Arabian musical flavors makes impressive moves in light-hearted duet titled 'Taron Bhari Hai Ye Raat Sajan'. This soundtrack sounds better and makes the finest of vocals, technicalities of sound design and refreshing lyrics to give it a sensuous love-track feel. Sunidhi Chauhan's lighter 'n' huskier tones get suitably permeated into the mushy textures with supple inflow of mild orchestrations. Sami's composition brings out mixed and matched works of Arabian 'lounge' with 60's touches to give it earthy romantic feel. Once again, it's an above average number that should be giving desiring lovey-dovey moments on big screen with sparks flowing across between two new lead actors.

Adnan Sami's typical melodic feel and vocal ooze that has been his signature style of singing for years makes resurgence in another mushy soundtrack 'Sargoshiyo Ke Kya Silsile Hai'. In this supple love-track, Sami directs Raja Hasan to inspire his singing flair with similar rhythmical pattern (similar to 'Kabhi to Nazar Milao') that has given him many hits in the past. Raja Hasan's improvised vocals impresses with fine control over pitch modulation in softer tones while Shreya Ghoshal's shrill rendition in low octaves adds to the feel. It works on similar tonality to the first soundtrack 'Jadu Nasha, Ehsas Kya' with almost comparable orchestral arrangements.

After three soppy 'n' soggy sounding duets, there is something refreshing and youthful that comes in Shaan's reverberating voice in 'Dekha Tujhay Jo Pehli Baar'. It scores high on alluring 'yuppie' appeal in its relaxing ambience with being upbeat in subtle westernized arrangements. Sameer's wordings may not be as engaging to the decorum of this light-hearted composition but it's the somber sounding Shaan that makes the maximum impact with his breezy rendition. Undoubtedly this stands out as the most enlightening of the lot and should be adding sugary feel to the love-chemistry.

RAJA'S SWEET MESSAGE TO HIS FANS FOR HIS IPL ROCKSTAR ENDEAVOUR

PLEASE ALL PRAY FOR HIM

I called Raja today as I have not spoken to him in a while and I didn't realise that it was a significant Religious day for him, so, therefore the conversation was short and sweet, but, I asked him to send a message to his fans and here is what he had to say. (Play above)

In addition to this, he mentioned that intentionally he will try avoid singing Sukhwinder Singh and Kailash Kher songs because he said that he believes that most Singer's do not believe that a song can be sang better than the original Singer themselves.  I disagreed stating that he should attempt it because he (Raja) sounds better than most of the original Singers songs, that I have heard :0)

I am not sure if he will take me up on the advice, but, I would love him to sing a Sukhwinder Singh song, just to hear Sukhwinder's feedback on his attempt!!!

Raja also wanted to know what I thought of his grand entrance on this week's show and I stated that I very impressed naturally, I said I loved his vocal variations to the songs, and he was very grateful, but, I also mentioned that for this show, that he should attempt to sing songs, that we have not heard from him before...

He has disclosed the forthcoming song that he will be singing, which I shall disclose later on this week.

A LOVELY INTERVIEW BY RAJA HASAN

Raja Hasan who has recently entered COLORS' IPL Rockstars as a wild card entry in conversation with TellyBuzz

Raja Hasan, the young talent who has made a mark for himself with his soulful music is the recent entry along with Aneek Dhar in COLORS' IPL Rockstars.

Here he is, in conversation with TellyBuzz

What made you enter IPL Rockstar thro' Wild Card?
We are getting an opportunity to perform before Live audience. It is a reunion of sorts, as I know most of the contestants here. We get to learn a lot from the jury. Above all, we get to see the IPL matches live (smiles).

So are you an avid watcher of cricket matches? How much do you enjoy watching the proceedings live?
I am a die-hard fan of cricket. I simply love watching matches from the stadium; I play cricket too. In fact, whenever I used to shoot I used to carry my cricket bat, and play cricket during free time.

So how have you prepared yourself to sing before the live audience?
No special preparation as such. People know us because of our music and I am going to give my best.

Aneek and you are entering the contest at the same time.
We both are very dear friends, and he is like my brother. This is a great platform we have got to showcase our talent, and we will put up a good battle.

Elaborate on the pressure that gets created when you perform live?
The pressure is not in performing live. It is within us, everything depends on how better we have grown as singers. This is the acid test.

What about the judges?
I have entered into play back singing now, and I have had the opportunity to sing for Sukhwinderji and Kailash Kherji. I want to learn rap music from our host Hard Kaur; I simply love the way she sings.
(THIS MADE ME LAUGH, JUST PICTURING RAJA RAP WOW!!!  RAJA WOULD BE AWESOME IF HE COULD LEARN HOW TO RAP, AS YOUNGSTERS LOVE THIS GENRE OF MUSIC, I PERSONALLY HAVE A MASSIVE COLLECTION OF HIP HOP/RAP MUSIC AND THINK HE SHOULD TRY AND ATTEMPT IT, TO BE EVEN MORE VERSATILE IN HIS STYLE - JENNA PAL (SITE MANAGER)

Which IPL team are you going to support?
My birthplace is Rajasthan and work place is Mumbai, so I am supporting both the teams.  But my prayers are that Sachin Tendulkar has an awesome IPL this season.

What are your future projects?
I have many movies lined up for release. The movies which are releasing soon are Sadiyaan and Well Done Abba. I am happy to have got the Upcoming Male Singer Award at the Radio Mirchi Awards.

Message to India-Forums?
Keep loving us and support us in whatever we do in this industry.

ANEEK AND RAJA MAY BATTLE IT OUT

AGAIN?!

Just when you thought the IPL Rockstar battle on Colors could not get any more exciting, it just did. This week, the audiences will be in for a special treat as they will see two well known 'new' faces enter the ring to fight it out for the prestigious IPL Rockstar title. The two new faces happen to be none other the phenomenal young singers Aneek Dhar and Raja Hasan.

Aneek, with his cute smile and boyish charm had managed to entrance the nation in earlier contests. This weekend will see his debut on the IPL Rockstar stage. His voice had once held the nation captivated. However, it remains to be seen whether he can work his charm on the people again and prove to be a worthy contender in the IPL grounds.

Speaking about his entry in the show Aneek said, "Having participated in a talent show earlier I know what it takes to sing on a big stage. However, IPL Rockstar is going to be a different ball game altogether. Not only is the magnitude of the show intimidating, the fact that I have to compete against the best of the best is a thought that is pretty daunting. It's overwhelming yet absolutely exciting."

The other new talent to enter the contest at this stage is the mini phenomenon that hit the music crazy nation a few years ago, Raja Hasan. Raja, with a smoldering voice that could scale the deepest depths of base notes and hit climatic crescendos in a matter or moments will now be seen unleashing his musical powers to vanquish possible contenders in IPL Rockstar.

An elated Raja said, "Every contest brings that familiar feeling of having butterflies in the stomach before going on to the stage. However, with IPL Rockstar, it’s not just the contest but the fact that it’s a stage like never before, with a massive live audience. I now understand what the cricketers must be going through every time they get on to the pitch. That is exactly how I feel now. I don't just have to perform for myself, but for every person who is present in the audience to see me."

With the competition taking an obviously intriguing turn make sure you don't miss out on any of this excitement. You will be able to meet both Aneek and Raja this Saturday & Sunday, March 27th & 28th on IPL ROCKSTAR at 7 pm only on COLORS. Make sure you are there to cheer these two very talented young men.

Shilpa Shetty to be celeb judge for IPL Rockstar

Cool!!!

Shilpa Shetty Kundra’s tryst with reality shows continues as she’s drafted in as a celeb judge on Colors show IPL Rockstar, say various media reports.

Shilpa was quoted in a tabloid saying that she’s judging a reality show but couldn’t speak more.

Sources associated with the show claim that IPL Rockstar required a star connected to the Indian Premier League and so Shilpa was signed on. Shetty will rate the contestants for their star presence and the ability to shine as a true Rockstar. Sukhwinder Singh and Kailash Kher are the other
judges on the show.

Shilpa and her hubby Raj Kundra are stakeholders in the Rajasthan Royals IPL team which is currently lying at the bottom of the table. In fact, ever since the couple joined the IPL bandwagon since last year, Rajasthan Royals’ fortunes declined as they not only lost their title but finished sixth in the 8-team competition.

IPL Rockstar hasn’t quite set the ground on fire and the naysayers might not approve of Shetty’s inclusion. However, not many gave Shilpa a chance when she won
Big Brother 3.

Meanwhile, Sa re ga ma pa Challenge 2007 finalist Raja Hasan too has joined IPL Rockstar.

“When asked about Shilpa Shetty coming in as judge, Hasan replied “When the God of cricket (Sachin Tendulkar) is in the ground, the rest are simply dwarfed. Honestly, I’m not aware of Shilpa’s participation but it would be great to perform in front of her.”

SATURDAY 20TH MARCH 2010

MKMM - NOW OFFICIALLY OVER, SHANKAR'S TEAM WINS

WHAT HAPPENS NOW? - THE HARSH REALITY OF IT ALL?

As you may have heard/seen, Shankar Mahadevan's team won 'Music Ka Maha Muqqabla' over Shaan, but, what will happen now, with these Reality TV discovered Singers?  Well, the harsh reality of it, is that the Music Directors get richer, lining their pockets with more money and the participants get back to their struggling days of trying to hit it big.

Without true fan support through websites like these, and people like myself, who work flat out, promoting Artists, in my own personal time, it leaves Singers like Raja,  fighting hard to keep their name and talent in the limelight.  Gems get lost amongst the millions, in pursuit of trying to reach the 'big time.'  Raja is lucky in the sense that his talent is a cut above the rest, in terms of talent, but, how long will the interest in his career truly last?  Raja is not savvy with internet related endeavours and the power that this kind of publicising has for his career, that is why I have taken it upon myself to assist him, as I am very passionate about his talent.  But, I personally feel that sometimes Raja has a bad combination, in the sense that, he is a rare gem as a talent, but, at times, he isn't as focused or as serious as he could be, to reach the next level in his career.  I only hope that soon this changes, because otherwise, we will risk the chance of losing a gem amongst the masses.  He has a very innocent train of thought in some respects, because he says that he leaves his career in Allah's hands, but, I think that he needs to see the helping hands that God has sent to assist him, because, although I also believe that ultimately God will help those who believe in him, he also sends people in ones life, to help them, and it is down to you as an individual, to notice these signs...

I know that I have tried my very best to keep Raja's name in the public domain since Jan 2008 when this website began.  Through this website, his career has garnered International interest from people who don't even understand Hindi, which I think is amazing, it shows that music truly has no boundaries, and those who are passionate about good music, will hopefully get to see Raja reach his goal of being a Professional playback Singer...

...Only time will tell what will happen, but, let's see...

THURSDAY 18TH MARCH 2010

NOW THAT IT'S ALL OVER - WHAT WAS THE BEST?

MKMM - MY OPINION

Ok, so now that 'Music Ka Maha Muqqabla' is over (in terms of Raja being out of it,) I thought that I would just take this time out to share what I thought was his best performance.  Surprisingly, it was not actually the song I had chosen for him in which he scored a perfect 10/10 but, rather his phenomenal version of 'Zindagi Ek Pyaas' which blew me away.

Many songs throughout the contest, I felt were great, but, I don't think that they were at the top class level, that I am used to hearing from Raja.  (I think this was more due to the fact that he was agonising over his personal loss) as oppose to his lack of capabilities as a Singer.  I also think that there wasn't any effort or care in the song selections, as most of them, we had heard from Raja before, but, that could be due to time constraints, or lack of rehearsal time etc.  Either way, I don't think that Raja and Himesh gelled well together, I personally think that if he was paired with any other Music Director, he would have faired a lot better...But, 'what doesn't happen wasn't meant to be,' it was a new experience for Raja and ultimately this is all that matters, another notch has been added, on his belt of collaborations and he has no doubt succeeded in getting more international fame and exposure.

Anyway, here is Raja's amazing version of the song, which brought the whole stadium to a standstill.

A melodious voice, so moving, and yet so fresh!!!

'Zindagi Ek Pyaas' from the movie: 'Judaai'

Top class quality versions of the 'MKMM' videos will be available for your viewing pleasure, when I have time to edit/upload/review them.

MONDAY 15TH MARCH 2010

RAJA GETS SCREWED AGAIN?!

OR MAYBE...IT'S NOT HIS TIME JUST YET.

I know that you must all have found out by now that Himesh's team did not make it to the Grand Finale, which means Raja is out of the run, to be in the winning team.  Now, I know that some of you may be heartbroken at hearing this news, but, I really feel that it is a blessing in disguise.  I know that after Raja's sister's passing that his heart, mind and pretty much everything else had left him reeling in shock and I think that he really needed to exit the show at this point to avoid delivering half hearted endeavours because I know that he was pretending to be okay for his fans/friends and everyone else.  Only Raja's closest friends get to see him with his guard down, to see him just as a person, a human being that hurts inside, like all of us, and not as an Entertainer and I am lucky enough to be one of them.  I really do feel that right now, it was the best time (for his own personal well being) to exit at this point.

Opportunities will come and go in life, but, those who need to notice Raja will have noticed him in that one moment and will have become fans for life, because he has that effect on people.  His voice has a Godly divinity that resonates within one's being and I am sure that he will go far if he never gives up in his life.

...May God Bless him on his journey...

SATURDAY 13TH MARCH 2010

Music Review:

Well Done Abba

After scoring a hit soundtrack for blockbuster film 3 Idiots, composer Shantanu Moitra returns with a different style in Shyam Benegal's Well Done Abba. The songs are not over the top, they simple and hummable.

The album offers five originals and no remix versions.

The soundtrack starts with
Meri bano hoshiyar, a wedding song by Ila Arun and Daniel B George. With psychedelic beats and western touches mixed with Indian styles, the song is a fusion. It's neither bad nor brilliant.

Up next is a love ballad titled
Sandesa sandesa. The entire song revolves around the word sandese and is beautifully sung by Sung Shreya Ghoshal and Rupankar. The number is essentially a
romantic one.

Then there is Hum toh apni bawdi lenge, a satirical number that talks about the political system of the country. The song is effectively voiced by Mohit Chauhan and lyricist Swanand Kirkire. The catchy, upbeat track might be situational but is worth a hear.

Next in line is the best song of the album Rahiman ishq ka dhaga re. Sung by Raja Hasan, it has traces of Sufi style that engages the listener. The song grows on you and is quite likeable owing to its tranquilising effect and soft music.

Finally, there is Pani ko taraste, another very nice track. This too has a Sufi flavour and is again sung by Hasan. The soothing beginning and overall treatment of the song gives it an edge. It is pleasing to the ears because of its soft orchestration.

On the whole, Moitra has done a good
job with the music of Well Done Abba and has composed tunes that generate interest among the listeners.

FRIDAY 12TH MARCH 2010

IT'S ALL GOOOOOOOOD!!!

'WORD OF MOUTH' GOES A LONG WAY!!!

I thought I would share something great with you all, remember I told you that I had started publicising/promoting Raja around the UK etc.  Well, the response I have received so far has been great, many people here haven't heard of Raja but, my work has got them interested and they are amazed by Raja's voice, some places have even requested that I go back and drop off more!!!  How amazing is that!!!

...I will share a few pics of the stuff that I have designed to promote him here...

I have sent Raja pics of these as well, so that he is aware of what goes on :0)

My bedroom is filled with Raja's promotion/publicity work, all of these have been designed by me and funded out of my own pocket.

These are 2010 Calendar magnets in a variety of designs, here the designs:

This is the publicity bag that is used, which also promotes Raja when I am on the move!!!

This amazing bag is also available in the 'Merchandise' section of this website.

These are adhesive stickers which can have a variety of uses, Raja used his, to stick to the back of his mobile phone to publicise himself, (I thought that was so adorable!!!!)  They all have inspirational sayings like; 'Raja Hasan Sagar - Ek Anmol Heera' or 'Raja Hasan Sagar - A Star Is Born' etc.

These are amazing rack cards, which can be used to pass out to people, or to just place on racks at Universities/Seminars etc to promote Raja!!!

This is the free promo CD which features 1 minute clips of Raja's best performances!!!

This is a flyer placed inside the CD wallet to tell people how I became involved in working for Raja etc.

This is my latest designed business card, it has an authentic touch, when you know the Artist and promote them!!!

This is one of the publicity books that I have made available in the 'Merchandise' section of this website.

Here is a small amount of the mounds of publicity - I cannot begin to tell you how much time and effort it takes to design these every night!!!

That is in addition to updating this website as well!!!

Then they are all packed up and ready to go!!!

I hope that eventually I can get Raja's name promoted here enough so that he can get a few tour dates here, that would be awesome!!!

It would be amazing to see his voice recognised internationally, because he is truly a rare gem!!!

TUESDAY 9TH MARCH 2010

RAJA'S LATEST OFFERING

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Raja's latest duet with Shreya Ghoshal (which is playing right now) sounds sweet to the ears, but, I am not sure if it is just me or Raja's voice sounds a little bit strained?  I am not sure, but, I do love Adnan Sami's magic on the piano, it sounds awesome!!!

Shreya and Raja both began in 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa' before striking it BIG, and hopefully great opportunities will continue to follow for Raja.  I have always thought once he gets a secure recording contract, (that pays well,) that I will close this website down, because it is too much hard work for me to do in addition to my own day job, I also need to start thinking about myself as well and worry about my own future, which will not happen if I pay attention to everyone else around me.

But, until then, I don't mind assisting Raja reach that goal!!!

Bless him!!!

SUNDAY 7TH MARCH 2010

RAJA'S LATEST PERFORMANCES - I AM LOVIN' THE HOT BLUE OUTFIT!!!

RAJA'S RESPONSE IS FUNNY!!!

Raja was looking mighty FINE in today's episode - the outfit was one of the best that I have ever seen him wear!!!

His latest offering on 'Music Ka Maha Muqqabla's' semi finals between Himesh and Shankar's teams, featured several performances, which were as follows;

'Upar Khuda Aasmaan Neeche' sang with Sharib Sabri

Raja's voice is far more powerful than Sharib's and even though Sharib had more of the song to sing, I felt that Raja's performance had a lot more impact!!!

Raja received 17.5 points for this performance whilst his counterpart received 17.

'Vande Mataram' ('Maa Tujhe Salaam')

I think that this song had a shaky start, but, I really liked the variations that Raja added to this song.  He rocked it!!!

Videos courtesy of: www.kinghasan.com

I will be totally honest with you, I have not been following this show religiously each week as I am bored of the drama on these types of shows, but, I make it a point to switch on just to watch Raja, as that is always worth the few moments of magic that the show offers.

Anyway, today I decided to call him just to see if he was okay, (as he is still recovering from the pain of his sister's passing) and I made it a point to state that his outfit was trendy and 'young', he said; 'What?  That superman outfit hahaha, did you like that?!' I replied, 'yes, it was very trendy and young looking' and he said; 'what are you saying, that I don't dress young?'  I started laughing, and he said that he was made to wear knee and arm pads etc, I said; 'yeah, but, the dress choice was great by the TV Network.'

Raja had also stated that the last week in his life has been very tough for him, as he is enduring a lot of internal pain and suffering, due to his sister's passing, so, please all pray for him to get better and back to form again.  His personal healing will take a long time yet, but, I believe that with a lot of love and blessings, that he will pull through.

In other points of the conversation, he had stated that the work that he had done for A R Rahman recently, was actually a kalam, for a personal album that Rahman will use for his personal listening pleasure at home.  I was thinking how cool is that???  Rahman-ji wants to listen to Raja specifically, that is awesome, that is all it will take for Raja to get noticed or to be remembered by a living legend.  If you all recall, it was Rahman's personal effort to promote and use Sukhwinder Singh for his projects that catapulted Sukhwinder's career to the stratosphere, so, let's all pray that he continues to use Raja as well, and it has the same effect on Raja's career.

Today, Raja was back working with another Music Director, he did not disclose who it was, because he was in a bit of a rush and had to dash off, but, either way, it is great news for us to see that the heavy workload is still coming in!!!

God bless him!!!

TWO KINGS - BORN TO RULE

RAJA AND RAHMAN - THE 'KILLER COMBO' ARE BACK WORKING TOGETHER, ONCE AGAIN!!!

Hiya Everyone,

As you are all aware, the reporting of the 'Music Ka Maha Muqqabla' show has not been that great on this website as I have been busy out and about, promoting Raja in the UK, but, fret not, as this news that I am about to share, is something even better!!!

Firstly, here are the performances, courtesy of www.kinghasan.com

Raja and Rehman - Rehman was nowhere close in terms of talent, compared to Raja in this performance.

What a sad and poignant song, the backdrop beat, was ironic to the true heartache that Raja was feeling.  One particular part, that infuriated me about this episode was when Himesh dropped to an all new low, by exploiting Raja's personal confidence in him and showcasing his (Raja's) pain for sympathy/reaction!!!

Rest assured that In depth reviews of these performances, will follow when I have time to upload and review them.

Anyway, yesterday I had called Raja, late in the evening, and he had said that he was sitting in A R Rahman's music studio, (possibly going to work with him again!!!)

Apparently, Mr A R Rahman had contacted Raja, to express his interest in working with him again.  Raja seemed overwhelmed on the phone and I started laughing at him, saying to him that; 'to us (fans and well-wishers) we are surprised when you DON'T get selected by the greatest Music Producers and YOU are VERY surprised when you do, that is sooo funny' and we both burst out laughing,  I said that God had given him a lot of struggle in his life, to prepare him for these great moments,' he stated that he is overwhelmed because he cannot believe that it is because of all of our love and blessings, that he has reached this far in his career, and he cannot thank us all enough.

Let's all hope that Raja and Rahman become a regular feature together, because there is NO other greater Artist, who can teach and nurture Raja's talent, more than Rahman Sir!!!  It would be simply wonderful if he could take Raja under his wing and direct him to greatness!!!

Raja had also stated that famed Music Director Shantanu Moitra of '3 idiots' fame has also requested to use Raja again for a forthcoming project possibly!!!

Things are just getting better and better!!!

...Please pray that this amazing success and track record continues!!!...
