RAJA IN BANGKOK, THAILAND

LOOKING MIGHTY FINE!!!

As you can see from the picture below, Raja is very much on the mend, he is looking a lot better and more refreshed than the last pic we saw of him.  Raja's recent live shows in Bangkok, Thailand as well as Jaipur went absolutely fantastically.  I was going to call Raja today but, like most of the Country I was totally glued to the World Cup and watched the heart stopping match between England and Germany and by the time it was over, I thought it was a little too late in the evening to disturb him, so, therefore I will try my best to contact him next weekend and hopefully we can catch up on the latest news!!!

Left: Raja Hasan Sagar (Singer) // Right: Anant Talashilkar (Musician)

Thank you to Anant for allowing me to use this picture!!! - We really appreciate it!!!

Naturally, we want to congratulate Raja for his recent successful run of shows, hopefully he will continue to gain more love and exposure, as he tours around the world, slowly but, surely winning more hearts along the way, hence living up to the title I have given him of; 'Dilo Ka Raja!!!'

SATURDAY 26TH JUNE 2010

THE WEBSITE WILL STAY OPEN FOR NOW

THE REASONS WHY I HAVE DECIDED TO KEEP IT GOING

Hiya All, after many weeks of thought, I have decided to keep this website open for now, I will tell you what brought me up to this point.

First of all, after consulting many different sources/friends and general well wishers, I came to the conclusion that at this moment in time, my reasons for closing are wrong.  I feel like I am leaving an incomplete project, which is not the sort of thing that I ever do.  I am a fighter in spirit and some weird part of me doesn't want to give up on Raja (even though he pushes me close to the edge many times, unknowingly.)

I have come to the realisation that ultimately everything in life will have it's negative and plus points but, all that matters is that my unparalleled love for Raja outshines the negative aspects of him, by miles.  We are true friends first and then everything else comes after...

But, I want to specifically tell you the amazing things that my friends/fans etc shared with me and how they changed my mind.  Although many people shared their thoughts, I would like to especially thank the following people; my mum firstly for her wise words of wisdom, Jasmine, Esther, Ayon, Vijay, France and Sanjay as their thoughts heavily influenced the outcome.  Here are small portions of the advice given...

Jasmine advised it would be harsh to end my friendship and website just because of my fury at Raja and his representatives of lax discipline/lack of co-operation.  She stated that Raja, although he says things, that he doesn't fulfil, will take a long time to adjust to his surroundings as he has become famous suddenly and he doesn't know how to deal with it correctly.  She stated ultimately I love him way more than the negative things which are bothering me, which is true, so, I shouldn't give up so easily. - I agreed with this because when I look at the sacrifices that I have made to keep this website going, for the third year running, it makes me want to cry when I think it could all end at the wrong time...

Esther stated that the only time a person will change, is when they are ready to change, she advised to 'hang in there' because right now is when he needs my support the most.  She said that Raja is very grateful for the work I have done thus far and 'this is what friendship is all about. The good, the bad, pointing and showing the way.'  - Very wise words.  Love them...

Ayon made a great point of stating that most Indians, based in the East, behave in a lax way!!! Hahaha!!!  He advised that the work practices in India are very different to here in the West, which is a very good point that I had not thought of.  - I cannot expect Raja to adjust to my way because he has had a lifetime of bad habits (which to him, are normal) because he doesn't really know any better.  You really have to have the world's patience when dealing with him.  But, realistically I have to accept the fact that I cannot change Raja if he doesn't want to, I can only point him in the right direction, then it is up to him, which path he chooses to follow.

Vijay gave me some beautiful, yet simple advice (for those of you who do not know, Vijay is actually the younger brother of Vijay who runs Raja's official blog www.kinghasan.com)  He advised that 'friendship first always' - This was a sweet, yet powerful message.  It is very true that friendship is very important in life.  I love and respect Raja's talent way too much to quit on him.  When I quit, it will be at the right time for the right reasons, not in the middle of my journey...

France was one of the first fans to give her input and we chatted extensively, she gave me wonderful advice that although she would love me to carry on, she would not want me to jeopardise my own health or mind in the process!!! - Hahaha!!! Yaar, I think it's too late for that!!!

Sanjay was a new fan who I met today on facebook, he said something very thought provoking that; 'everything in life will present it's challenges' - I totally agree with this, I guess not everything in life can be rosy, but, when I am doing something which is totally free for the public and costing me a lot time, effort and dedication, things can get tough when people do not have the same passion or focus as me.  But, I have to also agree that I am a unique individual hahaha!!! One of a kind, some may say LOL!!!

Also, one of the main reasons, that I was going to close was because of something which I have not disclosed before, but, basically periodically I have had a go at Raja, because he does things which pushes people out of his life, things which are not good for his career or progress, many times I have 'text shouted' him and each time I have pushed the limit to try and get the point across to him.  I know that doing this could have had a really adverse effect, because he could easily turn around and shout at me or cut me out of his life, but the fact that he hasn't, shows me that somewhere along the line, he truly loves me and realises that I care about him with no personal gain.

Anyway recently approximately a few weeks ago, I had a go at him (all for his own benefit) things which need to be told to him, before he loses his core fan base and I thought I had totally blown it, I thought 'Oh my God' he is never going to want to talk to me again, so, all this time, I was totally confused about what to do with this website, on top of this Raja was not answering my calls, which made me paranoid, that I had really upset him, but, it turns out all was well, when today I received a text from him saying that nothing mattered and that he loved me....I thought awww God bless him, he knows that I care about his future...I don't want him to struggle or lose any of his fan base, somewhere subconsciously, he must be listening to me, because he has upped his presence on his official blog as well, which is awesome!!!  He spends a little bit more time to interact with the fans who adore him.  But, in the same breath, I have told him that I will no longer ask him to change, because I do not have the right to.  I have come to realise that you can only change a person if they want to change and although Raja doesn't really want to, I know that eventually there is slight hope that he could...

I will be clinging on, for that moment - LOL!!!

Thank you all for your love and support, love you all!!!

FRIDAY 25TH JUNE 2010

RAJA IS ON A ROLL

THE CONCERTS NEVER STOP

Well folks, yesterday, Raja rocked at Thailand, he got back this morning and literally had no time to breathe, before he had to jet off to Jaipur for another show, which is scheduled for tomorrow...

Let's pray that aside from doing live shows, that Raja gets some lucrative opportunities within the Music Industry so that he can dominate via the Bollywood Music Industry.  Raja has the talent but, he needs a good PR representative (who is organised) to deal with his daily stresses that he has, I hope he finds someone soon, because he is a 'diamond in the rough' that needs some serious polishing :0)  Until that moment, he will continue to struggle.  I am a very perceptive person and I have seen ALL of the reasons why Raja's formula to success isn't working, but, only he has the key to his destiny and only he can amend these things and I know for a fact that changing his work practice, will change his road to success forever...

MONDAY 21ST JUNE 2010

RAJA HASAN - THE ACTOR?

HOW WOULD HE FARE?

Lovin' this HOT pic!!!

I have always wondered how Raja would fare as an Actor and I must admit that he has the complete package, the looks, the charm, the charisma, the only thing that he is lacking is the smooth finish to make the package complete.  I am sure that if he can sort these minor things in his life, that he would be flawless.  No one can touch him.  It would be awesome if we got to see him as an Actor as well.  I would love it.  I think that he could have great potential.  He is such a poser as it is haha!!!  All he needs is the stage to shine and he is on his way!!!

We all pray to God that it comes soon!!!

LET ME CHANGE THE FOCAL POINT

MY GOD - WHAT A VOICE

Video courtesy of: www.kinghasan.com

Why are people like Raja struggling???

To deviate from the depressing thought of closure plaguing my mind yesterday, I thought that I would comment on this magical clip recently filmed of Raja Hasan singing a medley of Punjabi songs.  It is clips like this which make me realise why I continue to do what I do, people like Raja Hasan are not meant to struggle, some voices are destined for greatness and there is a reason that our paths have crossed.  Very few Singers can sing with such beauty, and that too (in this clip,) with the basic accompaniment of a keyboard.  This medley really takes me to verge of tears, Raja's ability to connect with people's hearts and souls is truly unparalleled.  He may have flaws like all of us, but, his heart is definitely in the right place.  There is a lot of pain and sadness which resides within, and it resonates in every song that he sings...

He actually still looks like he is in the recovery process from his trip to the hospital, I had told him that he should rest but, unfortunately resting does not pay the bills, so he has to be up and about before fully recuperating, to keep his family going.

I truly hope that he reaches the great heights of superstardom that I know, that he deserves.

 In other news:

Raja has recently recorded a song for yet another forthcoming Bollywood movie: 'Who's There.'

I will post the song, once it is available.

Let's hope that he continues to get wonderful opportunities coming his way.

SATURDAY 19TH JUNE 2010

I NEED YOUR INPUT/OPINIONS PLEASE

PLEASE HELP ME DECIDE WHAT TO DO NEXT

Dear Raja Fans,

I need your help in deciding what step to take next with this website please, I need your feedback.

...I will explain what is going on and you can tell me what you would do, if you were in my situation...

Ok, firstly, I want to make it clear that I could have relayed this information privately to a select few individuals only, but, I see you ALL as important as one another and so I think it is very important that I involve everyone in making my final decision regarding the future of this website.

In addition to this I am seeking advice from close family and friends, before taking any steps.

Ok, so firstly I will tell you what has led to this moment.

As you all know (if you have followed this website from the very beginning,) I opened this website on January 1st 2008, and aside from his Official Blog, it has been the longest running website in his name, supporting his talent and nurturing his unique abilities, every step of the way.

Initially when I started out, there were many well known blogs/pages etc which were created in his name and could have assisted in spreading the word about my website, but, they chose not to, whether that was because they saw me as personal threat or competition, I do not know, and neither do I care since I am a lot more professional than to behave like that.  So, from day one I have really been fighting a solo battle...People who could have helped me didn't and (if I wanted to be really cheap,) I could mention their specific names, but, I won't lose my character/dignity or respect over something so pathetic.  Anyway, after one year of running this website, a lovely friend of mine, managed to get Raja's contact details for me and that is how me and Raja began personally conversing and sharing news etc with all of you...Raja himself really is innocent in many ways and trusts that everyone who is representing him, is doing it with a genuine good intention/good heart etc but, this isn't always the case.

So, because of lack of continual news and consistency, I decided to go to India and visit Raja to try and discuss a few things with him.  However upon meeting him I was even more stunned at how rough he was (in terms of lack of being groomed professionally for the stage etc) and I was even more amazed at how he has dealt with fame etc because it is hard to be thrown into the limelight and be expected to deal with it, so, I thought he dealt with it quite well considering his unique set of circumstances.  Also, because he has a very childlike quality about him, he doesn't sometime realise the professionalism that he should adopt with becoming a famous star because I think it is all new to him and he is trying his best to deal with it, which is fine in some respect but, his lack of care in some aspects of his career, really worries me and it bothers me that he could possibly, always be a struggling star, trying to hit the BIG time and never reach the SUPERSTAR status that he deserves.  Raja told me that he is afraid of changing because he is scared that change might mean that he will lose his own down to earth self and become self consumed and arrogant in fame and I tried explaining that, that would not happen because he is not changing his character, he is changing his work ethic, but, I think he doesn't understand this or he forgets (because he is soooo forgetful too!!!)

At this time, I knew many harmful things that Raja was doing (unknowingly I presume,) which could really harm his career from progressing to the next level, so, being a honest and straight forward - 'no bull' type of person, I always make him aware of these things, and I didn't always know if I would get an adverse reaction from him or not, but, since he always picked my phone up, I guessed he preferred my honesty.

Anyway, since coming back from India, things got a little better for a while, but, Raja has a lifetime of bad habits, which will take years to untangle and maybe they may never get better, (which is something that I have to accept) regardless of if I open or close, but, I know that I can rest assured that I have always tried my best for him, with a pure heart and no hidden agendas and because Raja himself isn't technically savvy he can never comprehend how much work/effort/dedication goes into doing something like this, but, his fans appreciate it very much and I never created this website with the intention of meeting Raja or for any personal 'thank you's' etc because ultimately God sees your good and bad deeds and it is not important for you to prove your worth to any human being.   With all of this being said and done, I have noticed some small changes in him, which he only applies to me, because subsequently I have found out, that he still behaves the same way with other fans...Ughhh...This makes me think that I can only help someone who wants to help themselves.

Nowadays, even though Raja does sometimes infuriate me with his broken promises etc, I forgive him often because he has a good heart and unfortunately throughout this whole period, people around him who could assist, haven't taken as much time or effort to do it, which I think is a shame because the only person who it is affecting is Raja and whenever I think of closing, I think technically it is only hurting Raja and his truest fans/supporters which really confuses me even more, as to whether I should be taking this step or not...

I know that realistically, Raja himself wouldn't know the truest extent of what he would be losing, but, I do, and I care deeply about that.  I would be so heartbroken if in 4-5 years I realised that he was still a struggling Singer trying to make it.  It would crush me.  Simple things like returning a call to help his own career, he doesn't do and once or twice I can overlook it, but, more than that, it really drives me insane, because I am helping someone who doesn't want to help themselves...But, the other part of me thinks...maybe with time he will realise how to act/behave professionally and slowly he will adjust...???  But, I wonder how long I can wait...I don't have this kind of patience with anyone else in my life, and it is only because I truly love him and his talent that I overlook at lot of things that he does.  But, when he does it, he does get an earful from me each time because I can't lie to people that I love and somewhere I pray that he knows that I am doing it for his own benefit :0)

I think that is why possibly recently he commented on his official blog how much his fans etc mean to him, because I said his behaviour and lack of care (without knowing it) affects his fan-base and the way that they receive him etc.  It hurts me to do it, but, I think he needs to be told the truth.  All the people around him have either quit trying or just stopped being his fans, but, somewhere inside me, part of me just keeps going because I don't want to quit, until he gets a secure recording contract and then after that, it doesn't matter if he remembers me or not...because I have served my purpose in his life.

I said to him that I think it is fate that we have crossed paths, only God knows how long the journey will last, but, I do feel that there is a reason why it happened...

...So, I am stuck right here...

Due to my total professionalism in my work, I like consistency and words/promises to be fulfilled if they are made.  I know that this is all new to Raja but, if basic principles cannot be fulfilled, he is going to be in real trouble, but, at the same time, I know that he is mega busy all the time, but, then I say to him that promises should not be made that cannot be kept.

Like I said, people who could help me, don't as much as they could, as some of these individuals are getting paid to work for him and I work for free, spending a lot of my personal time, effort and money on him, just because I am a passionate fan of his talent and that makes me a real threat in some respects, but, then I find myself thinking 'is it really fair if I close?'  Because ultimately it will only affect Raja and his fans and no one else really matters.

My mother said that I should keep it going because I truly love him and it would be a shame to end something after so much time, love and effort (my mother sees all the sleepless nights that I have put into this website) and all the times I have travelled out to promote his talent etc.  She also thinks that I have to be understanding to the fact that Raja is always busy and he doesn't mean to be rude or offensive when he doesn't call back.  I agreed and said but, at the same time, promises should not be made which cannot be kept, as well as the fact that when someone is trying to help one's career, the least that they could do is meet you halfway in getting there...

Some of my close friends have expressed that it would be sad to see such a friendship end, because they said I genuinely love Raja and his talent and I have always wanted the best for him, they all say, if anyone has patience for him in life, it is me?!! Haha!!  (They all call me the 'wise buddha' because they know I am soooo patient and full of love and peacefulness and they always come to me for knowledge and advice!!!)

...So, fans/friends/viewers, please feel free to share what you think and what you would do etc because I am slowly but, surely losing my mind...

TUESDAY 15TH JUNE 2010

RAJA HASAN & REHAN KHAN

A TEAM TO ENVY

I am sure that you have heard through Raja's Official blog that, Raja Hasan has decided to join forces with a fellow Singer Rehan Khan (who was also a struggling Singer before finding his feet in the Music Industry) to form a new band called 'Band Hungama.'  Rehan Khan worked his way to the top by gaining fame through Reality TV shows etc before hitting the big time.  I must admit that I am quite sceptical at how this pairing will fair, I am not too keen on the band's name, I think it sounds a little outdated, but, I guess it is not the brand name, it is the brand itself which has to sell and convince people to spend their hard earned money.  On a marketing level though, I think that the brand name could have been a LOT better.

As a Singer, Rehan sounds good, but, I don't think that he is a vocal powerhouse or offers anything vocally different or enchanting for the ears to be enthralled at, but, that is not to say that the outcome of a joint endeavour, will not be good.  (I am just after all, one person with one opinion who is just free to express my train of thought.)  I am also curious to find out the reason why Raja felt the need to pair up with another Singer.  I think that if he has formed it for the sake of friendship that it can be a dangerous career move...

However, I don't want to put a negative spin on things, I am just merely curious.  The plus aspects of such a partnership is that fans from both parties can join together and form a bigger audience collectively, which will equate to more money registers ringing and fans can share their love between the two stars (E.G.) Raja fans can become Rehan fans and vice versa.  But, only time will tell what will happen...

Until then, watch this space!!!

WEDNESDAY 9TH JUNE 2010

RAJA HASAN - IMITATED

BUT, IT'S NOT QUITE THE SAME

It's always great to get recognition, so, it was a wonderful moment, when on a recent episode of Reality Television show 'Indian Idol 5' a contestant; Naushad Ali (also of Rajasthani Descent,) decided to sing a Raja Hasan Song 'Maari Teetri' from the movie 'De Taali.'  It is nice to see that Raja is swiftly moving up the ladder of success and I can only pray that great opportunities continue to grace his path...

In regards to this performance courtesy of kinghasan.com, I personally feel that any song which has been sang by Raja cannot be sang better by any other Singer, (my biased opinion obviously haha :0), but, that doesn't stop us applauding the effort of this young man...

...Check it out and see what you think...

SUNDAY 6TH JUNE 2010

RAJA HASAN DOES IT PUNJABI STYLE!!!

BALLE BALLE!!!

Hiya Everyone,

As you would have already seen on kinghasan.com, Raja has recently leant his vocals to a Punjabi album called 'Hyper' which has been produced by British Music Producer Popsy Nandha, the album is anticipated to be released in Summer 2010.  Track details are not known yet, but, I am really looking forward to it because it will be interesting to hear Raja with a more Western sound to his vocals.  For the last few months I have stated to Raja that he needs to try something which makes him more appealable to Eastern and Western audiences, as I think that this will be his key to success, I have even cheekily requested him to learn how to sing in English vocals as well, as I think that he could pull it off, if he really puts his mind to it.

Anyway, I am personally looking forward to hear his Rajasthani vocals against a backdrop of Brit produced Asian beats!!!

It is bound to sound PHAT!!!

WEDNESDAY 2ND JUNE 2010

RAJA HASAN

'MY WISH HAS COME TRUE'

This interview is mighty interesting and revealed some amazing facts that I was not aware of!!!

Please note that this interview is prior to his show in  Jeddah last week.

On the invitation of Mahir Siddiqui’ Saaz Aur Aawaz group, the upcoming new star of Bollywood’s playback singing genre of music, Raja Hassan is in Jeddah to perform at the Indian International School Jeddah (IISJ) on Thursday. This is Hassan’s first performance in the Kingdom.
In an exclusive interview with Saudi Gazette, Hassan remarked that he had a wish to come to Saudi Arabia after performing in other countries in the region. “It was a dream to come to this prestigious country and having come here, I now feel that I will succeed in every aspect of my life,” he said. I had hoped to bring my parents here to perform Umra, and that has finally been done. I will now try to visit Saudi Arabia whenever possible.”
Having completed his Umra, Hassan feels that there is no place in the world he would want to visit or see. “After the Umra I experienced peace in my heart and I will retain this feeling until my death and hope to visit the Kingdom again and again and get the chance to perform the Haj,” he added.
Formerly known by the first name of Raza, Hassan changed his name to Raja, his pet name. He is happy with the change of name but doesn’t find anything remarkable in it. “I became famous with my pet name ‘Raja’ because my mother calls me that as does the whole world now. I don’t think that it had a special effect on my life though because it was Allah’s wish that I become famous as Raja so here I am,” he said.
Raja Hassan belongs to a family with a serious musical background. He began learning music at a very early age from his grandfather Allah Rakha Khan Sahib, who was the royal singer at the Jodhpur Palace and his father Rafiq Sagar Sahib who also attained fame through his talent. “Music was in my blood and I wanted to follow my family’s trend and become a music composer when I arrived in Mumbai,” he explained.
“However, there were some obstacles for me and I turned to singing for survival. I have struggled quite a lot as I used to walk 13 kilometers every day to work at a restaurant in Malhar, because the last bus from Malhar to Santa Clause was at 2.10 A.M. and my work only finished at 2.30 A.M. I earned only 60-80 rupees a day at that time which was not enough to take a bus or rickshaw so I had to walk all the way home.” Hassan spent almost eight years struggling in this manner before his big break.
The break came in the form of the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa show on Zee TV, where he was chosen amongst thousands of participants and then selected by music composers Vishal and Shekhar in their team. He was the first runner-up in that show and began his singing career soon after. “Though my family was very happy, they have never said so to my face for fear that I’ll become proud and arrogant and still scold me on my mistakes,” he confessed.
Hassan is very happy with his wife Ayesha and children: 12-year-old Saniya and four-month-old Adil. Hassan has also face many problems for marrying a Hindu even though she converted to Islam. “I think I’m the luckiest man on earth because I have a wife who understands me completely. We faced many threats because of our relationship and had to elope and live away from our parents for four years,” he said. “It was a difficult period and we had to struggle a lot but after a while everyone accepted our marriage.”
He believes that education comes foremost for his children and wants them to study hard but even before that, to become good human beings.
Hassan has sung more than 200 songs to date and participated in a number of TV shows and films. His first Bollywood song was for renowned music composer Shankar Mahadevan called “Ye Duniya Oot Patanga”. However, his first solo playback recording was for the film “De Taali”s “Maari Teetri”. Soon after this he released his first solo album called “Yaar Mila de Re”. “I want to reach a level where people look at me with pride, respect and remember me for my good work. I want to become a commercially successful singer who can sing all types of songs,” he said.
Hassan gained stardom for his classical, sufi style of singing but he is adamant that he can sing other styles as well. “In the coming five years I want to become as versatile as Sonu Nigam and the late Mohammad Rafi, as well as a good husband, father and son and the winner of multiple awards.” Not many people know that Hassan has also trained as a theater actor for two years and would like to try his hand at acting.
As for his fan following in Pakistan, Hassan says: “If there is ever an offer to sing from Pakistan, I would like to visit them and ask them to pray for me,” he said.
