Let's pray that Raja gets this wonderful opportunity and moves swiftly up the ladder of success.

SATURDAY 20TH FEBRUARY 2010

LET'S GO BACK AND RECALL WHAT HAPPENED?!

THE TRUTH IS HERE

Ok, so as you are all well aware, I have been mega busy promoting Raja around the UK and coupled with the heartbreaking and shocking death of Raja's sister Rani, I haven't been able to update this website as often as I normally would, but, I am back for now.

Let me backtrack to a few weeks ago when Raja had performed Dr Zues' 'Kangna' on the 6th February 2010 in the Muqqabla mix as well as 'Chupke Chupke' a famed Ghazal by Legendary Singer Mr Ghulam Ali.

Firstly, here are the performances, in case you missed them.

Raja sang this song for his international fan following, because he knows that this song is very popular in Foreign Countries!!!

I will review all of these performances in depth in the video section of this website when I get enough time to sit down and analyse each performance.

In between these two performances a major controversy kicked off whereby Raja raised an interesting point about Reality TV Stars not being given their dues as credible Singers/Artists.  The full version of this was heavily edited and you only got to see a brief glimpse of what happened.

I had coincidentally called Raja on the weekend just after he had raised this point, but, it had not been televised yet, so, I was unsure how things were until the following week when it was broadcast, but, at the time, Raja had called and clarified this point to me in depth (over an half an hour conversation actually) and I think that it is very important that I share this with you all.

On TV, Raja had merely stated an interesting point that he didn't understand how Reality TV Singers were told by famed judges that they sang better than the original Singers and then were not being given any opportunities by national Music Directors who prefer to hire Singers from Foreign countries whose singing abilities were questionable.  (Although I did not agree with the way that Raja conveyed himself, I fully agreed with his point.  I just didn't feel that it was necessary for him to shout, he could have expressed everything in a speaking tone, as oppose to hollering off the rooftops.)  This opinion caused a mixed reaction, as the judges felt that Reality Singers tend to get a chip on their shoulder with a bit of success, but, the audience loved it then, Raja fired back stating he was not on about himself, he was on about all of his fellow brothers and sisters who struggle everyday.  There was no resolution or answer on the televised version, and I was annoyed that in the coming weeks that Raja had wrongly been quoted in the papers stating that Pakistani Singers should NOT be given opportunities over Indian Singers residing in India, this is simply NOT true.  This is what Raja told me...

Raja stated that he is annoyed when national Music Directors are continually praising Reality Singers to the high skies and stating that they 'sang better than the original Artists' and are not even selected for Music projects, when they are clearly a lot more talented than some of the International singers who get more opportunities and precedence. He stated that there are many financially struggling Singers who barely have enough food to eat and end up dying, on the streets of Mumbai, and yet, they have incredible, mind-blowing talent but, are often overlooked because Music Directors want to pursue international talent from those, who are sometimes mediocre and financially well off.

He also made it clear to me, that he wasn't saying 'DON'T give International Singers work,' he stated, 'ALSO' give it to them, but, don't neglect the incredible talent that is residing within India.  He said it angers him that Singers are portrayed on these shows as poor helpless people who are trying to find a big break and then aren't even given opportunities after the show's are over, they are just given false hope and their life is left as a serial on TV for people to glance at.  (I was not even attempting to say anything in between this conversation as Raja was on a roll.  I spoke only a few minutes in between because he had so much to get off his chest haha!!!)

Then Raja went on to say that he was incredibly lucky, he was not referring to himself when he brought up this point, he was on about everyone else around him.  He said by God's good grace, he has had a continual steady stream of work since his break onto the screen in 2007, but, others have not been so fortunate.  (I made a point to say that this is because Raja is an exceptional talent!!!)

Raja felt that all of his fellow Singers should be given hope of reaching the next level in life, and should not be left hanging onto an empty dream to pursue.

I totally agreed with him, but, also pointed out that unfortunately money is what makes the world goes around and a lot of these Music Directors are looking at what can equate to big money for them, if they can choose an International Singer over a national one and make more money worldwide, they will do it.  It is natural for Raja to feel fury, but, I said, unfortunately this is the Music Industry...Money and success is all they care about!!!

So, now that I have clarified this situation I will move on.

Later in the episode, Raja sang 'Chupke Chupke' a famed Ghazal by Legendary Singer Mr Ghulam Ali.

He said that he tried to fulfil the beauty of this song, but, he had a hard time doing it as he was still in a frustrated mood.  (Bless him!!!)

Then the following week, Raja sang 'Jiya Dhadak Dhadak' from the movie 'Kalyug' which was originally sang by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.  Here it is in case you missed it.

'Jiya Dhadak Dhadak' from the movie 'Kalyug'

'Pardesi O Pardesi Mitthasa' from Dev D.

Now bringing you back to where we at now, Raja sang 'Pardesi O Pardesi Mitthasa' from Dev D, I didn't like it very much, but, mum loved it.  I will write more in depth reviews in the coming months after I have edited and uploaded the videos etc.

In between all of this, major congratulations to Raja for winning his FIRST ever award, recognising his phenomenal talent at the Radio Mirchi awards, he was nominated for 'Best Upcoming Male Singer' for his duet 'Dhun Lagi' with Mika from the movie; 'Jai Veeru.'

The nominees for UPCOMING SINGER (MALE) were;

1. XULFI for Ye Pal from Aasma

2. SURAJ JAGAN & SHARMAN JOSHI for Give me some sunshine from 3 Idiots

3. RAJA HASAN for Dhun Lagi from Jai Veeru

4. MOHAN for Khanabadosh from London Dreams

5. AMIT TRIVEDI for Nayan Tarse from Dev D

Hopefully, this will be one accolade of many more that are yet to come!!!

Finally, I called Raja today (I think he said that he was at Himesh's house), and whilst talking to me, he was trying to be brave and 'happy Raja' as usual, but, I could tell that he was hurting a lot and so he let his guard down and spoke to me for a while about his sister's death and how it affected his whole world/being etc.  I wanted to cry...I just felt so helpless, he said that he could not face the world properly just yet, and he said that his heartache has affected his forthcoming performance on; 'Music Ka Maha Muqqabla.'  I told him not to worry, and that the general public should realise that he is a person first and then a Singer, but, he said that sometimes people forget that.

Please all pray that he has the strength to pull through this hard experience, as he really needs it.

I will try and update this website a little more frequently, but, if not, then please rest assured that I work for Raja every single day, even when not updating my website :0)  There is no rest for Jenna!!!  I will tell you tomorrow what interesting news Raja shared with me today...

SUNDAY 14TH FEBRUARY 2010

RAJA HASAN SINGS

'JIYA DHADAK DHADAK JAYE'

Raja sings 'Jiya Dhadak Dhadak Jaye' from the movie 'Kalyug' for this Valentines Day Special.

Naturally, the general mood is not appropriate for us to really make a big deal about Valentine's day, as this episode was filmed prior to Raja's sister passing away, so, let's pray that he can find the inner strength to pull through this personal tragedy.

Please continue to pray for him and his family.

SATURDAY 13TH FEBRUARY 2010

OUR DEEPEST CONDOLENCES GO OUT TO RAJA HASAN AND HIS FAMILY

RAJA'S BELOVED SISTER RANI PASSES AWAY.

Dear Everyone,

I have been taking time out of my website work, to promote Raja around the UK, I have been travelling and actively promoting his talent, so this website has not been updated for the last week approximately, but, I will update you in the coming days of what has been going on, (as today,) is not the time.

I have just come online to state my deepest condolences to Raja Hasan and his family for the death of his youngest sister Rani who sadly passed away yesterday.  Raja advised me of this yesterday and I guess I was in too much shock to believe it.  I didn't call him, out of respect of the earth shattering way that he must be feeling, but, I did send many words of encouragement and support to him (via sms.)

Raja was sooooo proud of his sister and he showed her off to the world at any given opportunity, and I know that this is probably one of the hardest experiences that he will ever have to face in his life, but, I do believe that with the love and support of his family, his friends and his fans, that he will pull through.  We encounter so many positive and negative experiences in life, some too painful to bear but, I advised Raja that oppose to thinking about this experience as a devastating loss, he must try and focus on the joy that she brought to his life, and the amazing experiences he shared with her.

Please all pray for Raja and his family to heal through this painful experience that they are going through.

God Bless You All.

THURSDAY 4TH FEBRUARY 2010

RAJA AND HIS SHOWDOWN

THINGS ARE GETTING HOT IN HERE!!!

Raja was performing at a public function today for the 'Bangladesh Garment Association' in Chitangaon, Bangladesh.  I don't have any pics at the moment and I am not sure if any will be available, but, if I get any, I will definitely post them up for you all.  Between reporting on this website and when there is 'nothing' going on, on this website, there is ALWAYS something going on 'behind the scenes.'  I am always busy for Raja and he is always very busy too, even though he may not appear on our TV screens, to see everyday etc.  I am currently designing a lot of promotional publicity to drop off around the UK and that takes a lot of thought process, designing, making, conceiving, writing, etc and it can be a very tiring and time consuming process, so, please do not think that I have forgotten about you all, I haven't.  I am always dreaming up another amazing, creative idea to post etc.

Now, in regards to some slight controversy, which you may have had a sneak peak of, if you have seen the forthcoming mini promo teasers of; 'Music Ka Maha Muqqabla,' but, if you haven't seen them, check them out, to see what I mean!!!

Judging by the general mood, our Raja is on FIRE!!!

Raja states a valid point in this clip.

I will disclose what he said to me, after the broadcast of the show.

We spoke for about half an hour and he was very passionate in his conversation and I listened intently, because that is what good friends do!!!

I just let him vent his frustration, and I think he felt a lot better afterwards :0)

You will have to watch the show to find out, what happened and what he said afterwards to me!!!

Here is a mini clip of the superbly performed; 'Kangna!!!'

MONDAY 1ST FEBRUARY 2010

WHOOPS!!!

JENNA DROPS A BLOOPER!!!

Hiya Everyone,

Last week, Raja had thought that his broadcast was going to be showcased, this past weekend just gone, and he had told me that it was okay to write the songs that he was about to sing, but, it wasn't until after I had already broadcast the news, that I found out that the actual broadcast is on the 6th February!!!

Whoops!!!

Either way, I am sure that Raja will deliver a heart stopping performance!!!

I will disclose what his thoughts are, after the broadcast.

In other news, it is nice to know that since broadcasting Raja's fan page link on my news pages that fans have eagerly signed up, but, I still think that more people should be making the effort to join.  I know that there are many people who visit this website and are too shy to participate or don't know what to say.  You should all take some time out, every now and then to share your thoughts and opinions, that is what makes this an awesome experience...

Whether they are negative or positive opinions, or even messages you wish to pass onto Raja himself, drop them in the shout box above and I will forward them onto him.  He rarely gets time to log on and read his messages, so, I always send them to him as an SMS or call him and advise him, as I think that it is very important to bridge the gap between Raja and his fans.  He is very much aware of his fans and their importance to his life/career, and it would be nice to keep the momentum going and to show him that his talent is very much appreciated.

I really want to thank you for all of your love, support and kind messages over the years so far.  This is actually my third year of supporting Raja and I cannot believe how quickly time has flown by.  I was stating to Raja that even though I have worked for him for this long, I had actually worked with no intention of meeting him, I said that I just started the website out of passion, because I believed so deeply in his talent and he was amazed that I had worked a whole year for him before I even got his telephone number!!!  He just couldn't believe it.  I don't think he has met many people in his life who do something for nothing in return so, he was totally blown away by that.

I will end today's entry by sharing a funny story with you all.  Recently, I was thinking that in the UK, no one really knows much about Raja.  He isn't a recognised Singer over here, as he was born out of a Reality TV Singing show and unless you watch those shows, you wouldn't really know who he is...So, I made a conscious decision to design amazing flyers/promotional material (top class) merchandise, including hundreds of promotional CD's etc to help promote his name around the UK and this could only be achieved if I went out on foot or by car and helped promote his talent (bearing in mind, this cost is all coming out of my own wages it doesn't come cheap etc.)  Well, when I shared this concept with Raja he thought that I was totally 'mad.'  He just couldn't believe it.  He was amazed that someone could think so highly of him.  He also finds it amazing, that people are soooo overwhelmed when listening to his voice, because he said to me that sometimes he feels that fans are jokingly saying it to him and maybe they don't really mean it.  I was like ???? What?!!!  He doesn't believe that he is THAT great and I was amazed by that!!!

I personally think that he is simply one of the finest Singers that I have ever heard in my life so far and I don't even listen to Indian songs or Indian Singers that much.  But, there is a magical divinity that flows through Raja's voice...He is a rare gem in this world and I pray that he gets the true success and opportunities that he deserves some day.
