The depressive low

But, never mind...

I have always hated the period immediately after a song contest has ended because I know that there will be a temporary period of silence, that will follow before we hear of another exciting project for Raja to embrace.  I was a little worried because I have not spoken to him for several weeks.  Naturally, after IPL had been officially declared, I had tried several times to contact Raja to congratulate him, but, I got no answer.  Normally when Raja doesn't answer one or two calls I am fine because I know that he must be busy or not able to pick up, but, I had called 3-4 times on different days and he still wasn't picking up, which got me worried, anyway to cut a long story short, I finally managed to get hold of him today and he advised me that unfortunately he has been very poorly as of late, he is slowly on the mend, but, please all pray for him, and I am sure that he will recover speedily.

...When he is in better health and time permits, I will try and catch up with him and tell you the latest news...

Oh man!!!

What a pain!!!

Hiya All,

You will be glad to know that I am BACK!!!  Unfortunately, my PC had got infected with one of the worst types of trojans you could imagine, it was a dangerous one which had access to my registry, and I had to do a master re-boot and delete everything off and re-install it from scratch again, but, thank God, I am back now!!!  It felt like it was eternities ago that I had logged on, but, anyway, never mind, I am here now!!!

As you all may have heard our Raja Hasan has won IPL Rockstars, I haven't officially confirmed this with Raja himself, but, it has been reported on numerous websites already, that is the reason that I have decided to mention it as well.  Naturally, it would have been a grave injustice if he didn't as he was the best contestant on the show.  I really liked Arnab as well, but, he just didn't have the 'X' Factor that Raja possesses.

In between being offline, I regularly logged on to check your messages etc and it was nice to see the regulars log on and share their thoughts/opinions!!!  Also, I wanted to share some great news with you, I think that I may have gained access to top quality videos of this show and therefore will be adding it to the videos section when time permits, (it would be wrong if I didn't add them as he won this show,) so, I will try my best to upload them in the coming months.  I am running way behind in terms of writing reviews etc as I still haven't even edited the 'Music Ka Maha Muqqabla' ones!!!  What can I say?  I lead a busy life...I am constantly working hard...but, I will try and update elements of this website, as soon as possible.

I have made a conscious decision to continue running this website for 2010 and see how things get on...Hopefully in this time period, Raja will get a much deserved BIG break and I can quit all of this hard, tiring work because it is too much for me some days...x

Well, what a carry on?!

Raja singing 'Lagan Lagi'

Well as predicted, Raja sang a fantastic version of 'Lagan Lagi' which was originally sang by the Legendary Sukhwinder Singh.  I personally think that the studio version sang of this song on 'Ek Se Badhkar Ek' sounded a lot better, but, that is purely because a studio environment is different, as there are additional benefits (E.G) Opportunities to do re-takes etc that are stripped away, when singing live.  I personally feel that Raja's LIVE attempt was phenomenal because to get one's breathing flowing correctly as well as attempting to flawlessly sing in key throughout, is a daunting task for anyone, but, Raja pulled it off with ease, which is incredible, and taking all of these factors into consideration, I personally believed that Raja deserved at least a 9, as oppose to the mediocre 8 that he received.  I also think that it was an ABSOLUTE FARCE that he landed in the bottom two Singers of the day, as there were MANY other Singers, that deserved to be there and Raja was NOT one of them!!!

I personally feel that the standard of music has really dropped today and our Raja felt the brunt of it...It is a terrible state of affairs and I can only hope and pray that things get better in the coming weeks!!!

Ya got there in the end guys - Well Done!!!

Raja will tear the stage apart with his rendition of 'Lagan Lagi'

So, we got there in the end!!!

In what is promised to be a mighty interesting weekend, we will get to see Raja performing Sukhwinder Singh's 'Lagan Lagi.'

I must admit that I was so thrilled with his previous attempt on 'Ek Se Badhkar Ek' as he had raised the bar of excellence so high, that it will be tough to top that performance for me, but, I have every faith in Raja's ability to deliver.

Make sure that you tune in this weekend, to enjoy the magic!!!

Hiya Everyone,

I have just come off the phone with Raja and I can confirm that this week's forthcoming IPL performance, is a Sukhwinder Singh song, which he has sang in a previous show.  (I am so glad he has heeded my advice to pursue the Judge's songs!!!)

Please note that I will not be dropping any more hints/tips/clues, even if you guess correctly L.O.L!!!

My Personal Song Requests:

What do you think and what are yours?

Hey Everyone,

Since Raja is busy today, shooting for his forthcoming appearance on IPL Rockstar, I thought that it would be cool to share some personal song requests, which I think would be great for Raja to try out.  I know that that ultimately the title is for: 'IPL Rockstar,' so, some of these song choices would not be suitable, but, I think they could still be used for future endeavours/shows.  I have also sent these to Raja...

...Please note that these are NOT in order of preference...

(Bandit Queen) Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan - Sanwre Tore Bina.

Raja's previous attempts at Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's songs have been absolutely amazing, and I think that this song would sound stunning in his voice...

(Sarfarosh) Zindagi Maut Na Ban Jaye - Sonu Nigam/Roop Kumar Rathod.

We had heard this song sung as part of a group effort from HR's team in MKMM, but, I think that this song would sound amazing in Raja's voice as a solo endeavour...

(Laila Majnu) Hoke Mayoos Tere Dar Se - Mohammed Rafi.

This movie is one my all time favourite's as it is timeless!!!  This song although it is very old and before my time, I think it would sound incredible in Raja's voice.  I have not heard a God related song in Raja's voice for a while, so, this would sound beautiful ...

(Lagaan) Mitwa - Sukhwinder Singh.

No other Singer full-stop can attempt Sukhwinder Singh's songs and get away with it, but, I passionately believe that Raja is the ONLY Singer that can do justice t o them, (I had even said this to him, but, I honestly, think that he doesn't think of himself as that great to be compared to such legends...He honestly thinks people are teasing him when they say he is great?!!  I am like?!!!  Are you serious??!!)

What a sweetheart!!!

But, this song would sound beautiful in Raja's melodious tones, especially the part when he sings; 'Is darthi ka hai Raja tu' LOL:0)!!!...

Kinna Sohna -Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

Once again, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan sang this so beautifully that it is hard to emulate the magnificence of this track, but, I think that Raja can do it.  I would love to hear him belt out the part of; 'Dil Vich Tera, Pyar Vasaake'....My God, that would be a killer track!!!

(My Name Is Khan) Sajda - Richa Sharma, Shankar Mahadevan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan .

We already heard a mini sneak preview of this song on Raja's official blog, but, I would LOVE to hear the full version!!!

Apna Punjab - Gurdaas Maan.

You can't beat a legendary Punjabi Singer, singing a HOT Punjabi track and it doesn't get any better than Gurdaas Maan.  I personally love Raja's voice in Punjabi, (even when he speaks to me on the phone, I prefer his Punjabi speaking voice to any other language, because it sounds soooo beautiful!!!)  But, I do believe that this particular song would sound AWESOME in his voice!!!

(Kurbaan) Shukran Allah - Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal, Salim Merchant.

Again, we have heard this song before from Raja when he performed it on a TV show, but, no harm in hearing it again because it was soooo fabulous the first time around!!!

(Tashan) Dil Haara - Sukhwinder Singh.

I have always loved this song since it's release last year and I know that Raja could nail this song on it's head.  I know that it would be an incredible song to sing to get that party atmosphere going and for him to be crowned a true IPL Rockstar!!!

I am not sure if any of these will be chosen due to time constraints/rehearsal time etc, but, either way, I love them!!!

SUKHWINDER SINGH AND KAILASH KHER!!!

Hiya Everyone,

Because I was in a rush yesterday, I was unable to comment on the legendary performance by Sukhwinder Singh and Kailash Kher, the Pro's showed the up and coming Singers how it is done as they graced the stage and created a euphoric atmosphere with their amazing performance of; 'Fatak' from the smash hit movie; 'Kaminey.' I was ready to jump on stage and dance with them and that is the kind of atmosphere that our forthcoming IPL Rockstar should be creating!!!

When I see the remaining contestants, only Raja fits into that category, the other Singers are just mediocre vocally and performance wise.  I know that sounds harsh, but, I didn't feel anything, when they were on stage.  Only Raja made me rock!!!  If I was none the wiser, I would have classed him as a professional alongside Sukhwinder and Kailash Kher-ji.

Raja is in a league of his own and we must make sure that he continues to reach his goal of becoming a world class Singer.

OH MY GOD!!!

RAJA REALLY ROCKED MY WORLD - LITERALLY!!!

So, today was a fantastic day for Raja in TV land, because on IPL Rockstar's latest offering, he absolutely blew the roof off!!!

I must admit that although 'Maari Teetri' from the movie: 'De Taali,' was sang with total conviction, I think that it was a comfortable song for Raja to sing, because he was the original Singer, therefore I don't feel that it necessarily posed a challenge to him as such.  I believe that he is a complete Singer, and sometimes, I think that he really needs to step his game up, to match his own talent and expectations but, I did LOVE his little 'soniyeeee' improvisation at the end.  Nevertheless, Kailash Kher and his sidekick Sukhwinder Singh-ji seemed very impressed, and Raja scored 8.5 by Kailash Kher.  (Sukhwinder-ji's votes didn't get revealed until the end of the show when the points were combined with Kailash's to reveal who the highest/lowest scorers of the day were.)  I personally feel that 8.5 was a fair and well judged mark, but, I do feel that Raja needs to bring something new to the table...(I also advised him of this via text :0)  I also loved the way that Raja acknowledged Sukhwinder-ji's blessings and how they both laughed whilst reminiscing!!!

Duet Round - 8 Points by Kailash Kher. (I personally think this one was sang better than 'Maari Teetri.')

Next, we had Raja singing a Sukhwinder Singh song 'Saaki,' which was from the movie 'Musafir,' now although we had heard this song from Raja before, it was a very special moment, this time around, as he was singing it in front of the original iconic Singer himself, Mr Sukhwinder Singh-ji!!!  Raja pulled this song off with absolute finesse, the passionate way in which he enthralled the audiences, had them coming back for more and Raja managed to impress both of the judges, which earned him a total score of (32.5 points,) and he also gained an additional accolade of being judged the best singer of the day by the judges.

If this is anything to go by then, we will hopefully be seeing him rocking all the way to end, to become our IPL ROCKSTAR!!!

As a Singer, he is wayyyyyyyyyyyy better than all of his competition and I am not just saying that, I truly believe that he is vocally and any other way, a total ROCK ICON, he is truly the best!!!

Raja is bound to thrill!!!

'Maari Teetri' set to rock the stage!!!

This week Raja will be on stage strutting his stuff to his own tune, when he graces the stage to perform the smash hit; 'Maari Teetri' from the movie: 'De Taali.'  I was laughing at Raja saying that he cheated, by choosing this song, because I said, 'technically you cannot go wrong with this one because you are the original Singer' and he started laughing :0)

Anyway, make sure you catch the action this weekend when it hits your TV screens!!!
